This is an original 1890 black and white in-text wood engraving of the Arènes de Lutèce (Arenas of Lutetia) which are ancient Roman ruins located in the Latin Quarter in Paris, France. They were constructed in the 1st century AD. This amphitheater could seat up to 15,000 people while they watched gladiatorial combats.
