This is an original 1891 one-page print article about the Ingersoll quarry bar. This article also features an illustration of the method of working a quarry in benches with the aid of the quarry bar, operated as a channeler. The apparatus may be used either for simple rock-drilling, for gadding, or for channeling. The credit for the adaptation of the quarry bar and drill to the work of channeling is due to William L. Saunders, the engineer to the Ingersoll-Sergeant Drill Company, 10 Park Place, New York.
