This is an original 1892 black and white heliogravure of Hugues de Lionne who was a French statesman in the 16th century. He became a secretary to the queen regent Anne of Austria and obtained high office in the king's household. In 1654 he became an ambassador at the election of Pope Alexander VII and was instrumental in forming the League of the Rhine, by which Austria was cut off from the Spanish Netherlands.
