1893 Article Palmer Cox Brownies Germany Switzerland Instruments Music LHJ5
The earliest Brownie characters published was said to be around 1879; however, it was not until the Wide Awake magazine's 1881 publication that the characters were actually finalized. The Eastman Kodak Brownie camera, was actually named after Cox's Brownie characters.
