This is an original 1894 black and white halftone print that depicts some of the historical remains of the Mercato Vecchio in Florence, Italy, which was located in the current Piazza della Repubblica until its demolition. The Mercato Vecchio has gained contemporary popularity today as being the location of a glyph in the popular video game Assassin's Creed II.
