This is an original 1895 black and white steel engraving of a portrait of George Dyer, who was a harness and saddlery maker in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dyer also had a vessel named after him, which sank on Lake Michigan in 1851. The owner of the boat was the Dousman family.
