This is an original 1895 black and white steel engraving of a portrait of John C. Koch, a native of Hamburg, Germany, who first came to Milwaukee in 1854. Koch is most recognized for serving as a Republican affiliated mayor of Milwaukee. Koch also held high ranking positions with the Milwaukee Exposition Company, Concordia College, Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Home, Concordia Fire Insurance Company and the Milwaukee Advancement Association.
