This is an original 1896 black and white halftone print of Napoleon's Grande Armée moving through Prussia towards Russia. Napoleon's infamous invasion of the Russian Empire involved soldiers from Italy, Naples, Baden, Bavaria, Saxony, Westphalia, Spain, the Swiss Confederation and other smaller nations. While Austrian and Prussian troops also manned the ranks of the Grande Armée, almost all still remained loyal to their respective monarch. Napoleon's Grande Armée consisted of nearly 700,000 men.
