179153_XAY6_069

This is an original 1897 black and white wood engraving of Miss Lavinia Brounjones interrupted by the chaos of a runaway ram during her sketch of the model for "The Flocks" in her picture of "Cattle Lifting." The Brounjones series was one of the only Keene ever had published in Punch, which effectively illustrated his method of crafting a story. The original piece was featured in the British magazine in 1866.
