This is an original 1898 black and white halftone print of the rock at the Indian city of Trichinopoly, know known as Tiruchirappalli. Annexed by the British in 1801 as a result of the fourth Anglo-Mysore War, Trichinopoly became the first headquarters for the South Indian Railway Company.
