This is an original 1898 two-color halftone print depicting Victorian women wearing their Spring Promenade Toilettes. The 1890s were characterized by high collars, stiff steel boning in long line bodices and tiny, wasp waists. The silhouette of late Victorian women were essentially an inverted triangle with puffed sleeves while bustles were on their way out.
