This is an original 1899 one page article on the experimental plant focusing on the improvement of the quality of water well tested by Mr. George H. Young from Elmira, New York.

The well is about sixteen feet deep and the water's tank is about three feet deep. The tank was made of suitable material and was put in connection with the city main or the supply from the tank. The outlet pipe ends near the bottom of the tank, insuring the coldest part of the supply being delivered in the house.
