This is an original 1899 black and white halftone print of Great Zimbabwe, a ruined city near Victoria, that was inhabited between 1100 and 1400, during Zimbabwe's Iron Age. Various artifacts have been found in the ruins, but most notably, eight birds carved of soapstone.
