This is an original 1901 black and white halftone print of the "Friends' Meeting House (Wesleyan Chapel), in Tirril, England of the Eden District. This Quaker meeting hall played host to meetings for the English Lake Poets of the 19th century and saw such famous figures as William Wordsworth and Robert Southey.
The Literary Association of the English Lakes or the English Lake Poets were a collection poets and writers who lived in the picturesque Lake District of England in the 19th and 20th centuries. They were associated based simply on their subject matter, being inspired by the Lake District, and by their residence to that region of England. Notable scribes from this association were William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Dorothy Wordsworth.
