This is an original 1901 halftone print of the Sphinx and Pyramid on the West Bank of the Nile River on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. The Sphinx is a mythical being/creature with a human head and a lion's body. It is the largest monolith statue in existence and the most ancient monumental sculpture. It looks like the Sphinx is wearing a mask. Doesn't it make you wonder...what lies beneath...untold stories?
