This is an original 1902 color photolithographed map of the Italian Peninsula between the years 568 and 774 CE, while the Kingdom of Italy was under the control of the Germanic Tribe, the Lombards. After the collapse of the Western Roman Empire, numerous barbaric tribes, including the Ostrogoths, invaded Italy for plunder and territory. By the time the Lombards came South to claim Rome, the area was so depopulated, almost no resistance was given.

Please note this map is in German.
