This is an original 1904 black and white relief line-block map of the Peninuslar War Battles of Maya and Roncesvalles, both taking place on July 25th, 1813. Maya, a minor conflict, was fought between British forces under Lieutenant General William Stewart, and the French Imperial Army under General Jean-Baptiste d'Erlon. Maya resulted in a minor French victory, which complimented the French victory at Roncesvalles against British and Portuguese armies under the command of Major General Lowry Cole, by the greatly more numerous French forces under General Honoré Charles Reille.
