This is an original 1904 black and white relief line-block map that depicts the besiegement of the Forts around the city of Salamanca, and the operations to capture them by French Marshal Mormont. Defended by British, Spanish, and Portuguese soldiers, who were all under the command of Arthur Wellesley, the forts held out and defeated the French, while inflicting heavy casualties.
