This is an original 1905 black and white halftone print which depicts the arcade and decorative façade of Madame de Maintenon's private residence. As the second (and secret) wife of King Louis XIV, she was an important figure at court during the 17th century, and most likely spent more time at Versailles than at this lovely home.
