Period Paper is pleased to offer a collection focused entirely on the life of famous German-American conductor and violinist Theodore Thomas. Each bookplate is in excellent condition, and depicts not only portrait of Thomas, but also several of the concert halls he performed in, as well as his contemporaries. In addition to being an excellent violinist, he founded the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. His conducting skills were impressive, and he used them with expert precision, leading orchestras across the United States for many years. His last performance was on Christmas Eve, 1904, and he sadly passed away on the 4th on January from a nasty bout of pneumonia.
