This is an original 1905 black and white halftone print of the historic Kerak Castle (Crac des Moabites) that is located in the city of Al Kerak, Jordan in the Middle East. Historically, the fortress was used by crusaders during the Middle Ages until it was recaptured by Saladin's army in 1189 CE. The castle was also featured in director Ridley Scott's 2005 film, Kingdom of Heaven.
