This is an original 1906 color print of the entrance to the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. The Grand Canal is the main thoroughfare through this magnificent and ancient city.

The original artwork in this print was created by Myles Birket Foster (1825-1899). Foster was an English watercolor artist and illustrator. He was born in North Shields, England, to a Quaker family. Foster was apprenticed to a wood engraver named Ebenezer Landells in London and worked as an illustrator for books and periodicals. He is also known for his landscapes which he painted as he traveled throughout Europe.

This 105+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. No creases. Minor print defect - top left corner. No surface rub. No tears. Light moisture wrinkling.
