This is an original 1906 halftone print showing Avenida Central in Rio de Janeiro. This magnificent avenue, over a mile long and about one hundred and ten feet wide, was cut through the heart of the old town and completed in eighteen months. It is lined with costly modern business buildings, paved with asphalt, and superbly illuminated.
