This is an original 1906 black and white halftone print of a portrait of Gen. Henryk Dembinski (1791-1864). He served in the Napoleonic Wars and was later appointed the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish insurgents during the November Uprising of 1830-31 that was fought against the Russian Empire. He was also the commander of the Northern Army in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848.
