1906 Print Telescope California Photo City Mount Wilson ORIGINAL HISTORIC TW3

This is an original 1906 two-page halftone print featuring an image of how the myriad twinkling lights of a large city would look to an astronomer twenty miles from the earth. The photograph shows the lights of the two cities of Pasadena and Los Angeles, as they lie stretched out in the valley below the mountain. The picture was taken on a dark night with the famous Bruce photographic telescope, located on Mount Wilson in California.

This halftone print also features a photograph of the same view by daylight. Pasadena looks almost microscopic.

This 105+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Light aging in margins. No creases. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is printing on the reverse.
