This is an original 1906 halftone print of the Temple of Heaven located in Beijing, China. This temple, also called the "Altar of Heaven," was built between 1406 - 1420 during the reign of Emperor Yongle. The complex was visited annually by Chinese Emperors for prayer ceremonies for a good harvest.
