This is an original 1906 black and white halftone print of Tigbourne Cottage which is located in Hambledon at the foot of Wormley Hill in England. This image shows Myles Birket Foster (1825-1899) and his family. Foster was an English watercolor artist and illustrator. He was born in North Shields, England, to a Quaker family. Foster was apprenticed to a wood engraver named Ebenezer Landells in London and worked as an illustrator for books and periodicals. He is also known for his landscapes which he painted as he traveled throughout Europe.
