This is an original 1907 halftone print of the Sturgeon River. We are unsure as to where the river is located, but the caption writes, "On the Sturgeon River near waters that would have rejoiced Isaac Walton." Izaak Walton was an English writer known for his book, "The Compleat Angler." Interestingly, Charles Dickens makes mention of Walton in "Tale of Two Cities," as well as Washington Irving's, "The Angler."
