1907 Print Vittore Carpaccio Altarpiece Church San Francesco Madonna XAG8

This is an original 1907 halftone print of a piece by Venetian Renaissance artist Vittore Carpaccio (c. 1465-1525), who is best known his conservative, large-scale detachable wall-paintings, which were not as humanistic in nature as the work of his other Italian contemporaries. This is the altarpiece from the church of San Francesco di Pirano, and has the Madonna enthroned with the Christ child on her lap, surrounded by saints.
