1907 Print Vittore Carpaccio Funeral Saint Jerome Renaissance Mourning XAG8

This is an original 1907 halftone print of a a piece by Venetian Renaissance artist Vittore Carpaccio (c. 1465-1525), who is best known his conservative, large-scale detachable wall-paintings, which were not as humanistic in nature as the work of his other Italian contemporaries. This image portrays the funeral of Saint Jerome. He was originally buried in Bethlemen, however his remains were later transferred to Italy.
