This is an original 1907 monochrome wood engraving entitled Altömisches Wagenrennen im Zirkus Maximus (Old Chariot Racing at the Circus Maximus) by E. Forti. Spectators are on the edge of their benches as the competitors tackle the tight turn at one end of the racetrack, black in the lead.
