This is an original 1908 halftone print of the court of the old pharmacy of the Franciscan Monastery in Dubrovnik (Ragusa), Croatia. It appears that two monks are standing by what we believe to be a well. The monastery was built in the Romanesque-Gothic style and the construction was begun in 1337. However, it was completely destroyed in the Great Earthquake of 1667. Photography by O. Holbach.
