This is an original 1908 halftone print of the head irrigation system in Sanger, California.

The city of Sanger was named after Joseph Sanger Jr., who was a high-ranking official of the Railroad Yardmasters Association. In 1887, the Sanger Railroad Depot was built primarily for the Southern Pacific Railroad. This depot served as a center for agricultural shipping, while simultaneously allowing travelers to easily access the city via train. By 1911, Sanger was officially incorporated. Today, the depot is the oldest building in the city.
