This is an original 1909 black and white print ad for the Hopkins & Allen Arms Company in Norwich, Connecticut. This ad features the Triple Action Safety Police Revolver with Nickeled Finish. The company was founded in 1868, by Samuel S. Hopkins, Charles W. Hopkins, Charles W. Allen and Charles A. Converse. Converse sold his 50% share of the company in 1874, to William and Milan Hulbert; however, the Hulbert brothers went bankrupt in 1896, and Hopkins and Allen followed suit in 1898. The company was reorganized and renamed as the Hopkins & Allen Arms Company, but ended up losing everything in a fire in 1900. The company was rebuilt in 1901, but never managed to recover and went bankrupt again in 1916. The company was bought by Marlin-Rockwell in 1917.
