This is an original 1909 color print of Queen Clothilde and King Clovis of the Franks. Seen in the background is their small son. The couple's first son, named Ingomir, died a few days after his baptism; Clovis blamed it upon Christianity. Their second child, named Cladomir, was also baptized, and afterwards Clovis converted to Christianity.
