This is an original 1910 halftone print map of a diagram of the dispersal of human skeletons near the Ellis Landing Shellmound in California.

A shellmound or midden is a wasteland used by previous human settlements, which accumulated with domestic waste containing shells, animal bones, human excrement, vermin and other ecological and human waste products. These pits were originally created by nomadic groups, who generally utilized the disposal area a single time before moving on. However, sedentary communities would use the dumps for extended periods of time. This particular shellmound was located near San Francisco Bay and the Richmond Inner Harbor in California.
