1911 Print Maine Battleship Explosion Havana Harbor - ORIGINAL HISTORIC TW3

This is an original 1911 halftone print featuring an image of the hulk of the Maine resting on mud in the bottom of Havana Harbor.

The Maine was the United States Navy's second pre-dreadnought battleship. The Maine was sent to Havana, Cuba during the Cuban revolt against Spain. The Maine exploded and sank in February, 1898. The cause and responsibility for her sinking were unclear.
