This is an original 1913 2-page halftone print set (two single-sided pages, both with unrelated print on the reverse) of Gartenplan des Landhauses in Harleshausen by Hermann Muthesius. Muthesius was a German architect, author and diplomat who was best known for his ideas of the English Arts and Crafts movement within Germany. He studied philosophy and art history at Frederick William University in Berlin for two years. After, he studied architecture at the Charlottenburg Technical College, while working with architect Paul Wallot. He was one of the major architects who built Germany's first Garden City, Hellerau, a suburb of Dresden. He continued to design houses and writing about domestic architecture until 1927 when he was killed in a road accident.
