This is a rare original 1913 halftone print of the Fire Commissioner Johnson and Miss Marian Gaynor (a daughter of the city's chief executive), at the christening and launching of the steel screw fireboat the William J. Gaynor on June 25th from Elizabethport, New Jersey. Present alongside the Mayor Gaynor himself were Chief of Department Kenlon and other political officials and guests.
CONDITION
This 98+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++. Heavy aging in margins. Light wrinkling. No natural defects. Some heavy surface rub. Large tear - left margin. No water damage. Please note that there is rub from the print on the reverse. Please also note that there are black speckles within the image. There is also a large tear in the center left margin that goes into the image.
