"An Embarrassing Moment."

This is an original 1914 halftone print of a painting by A. B. Frost. Embarrassing perhaps--but dangerous? Most certainly. This is no friendly brown-eyed milk cow--but a ferocious looking bull complete with a ring in his nose. The horseless rider will have quite the story to tell--that is, if he ever catches up with his runaway mount.

A. B. Frost

(1851-1928) Arthur B. Frost is perhaps best known for his illustrations for the Uncle Remus tales by Joel Chandler Harris, as well as for realistic hunting, shooting, fishing and golfing prints. Much of his work depicted scenes of rural America and these were often done with a humorous touch. His finely drawn and detailed illustrations appeared in many books and publications, including Harper's Weekly, Scribner's, and Life magazines.
