This is an original 1914 black and white halftone print of "The Valley of the Meuse at Dinaut." This early twentieth century image captures the Walloon city of Dinant in the Belgian province of Namur, Belgium. The image was captured from the vantage point of the citadel, a fortified structure dating to the eleventh century. In the foreground is seen the famous onion dome of the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, a Romanesque church that was rebuilt in the Gothic style following its partial destruction from falling rocks from the adjacent cliff.
