This is an original 1914 halftone print titled, "A Scene in the 'Setch,'" featuring an image of Cossacks writing a refusal to the Sultan of Turkey in which they refuse to become mercenary allies in a war they disapprove of. The original painting at the time of this publication could be seen at the Museum of Alexander III in St. Petersburg, Russia.
