This is an original 1917 photogravure portrait of Henry Clay (1777-1852) from a painting by Samuel Finley Breese Morse. Clay was an American statesman and orator. During his political career he served as U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative from Kentucky, Speaker of the House, and Secretary of State. The photogravure includes a short biographical sketch on the reverse. Please see both images.
