This is an original 1917 halftone print of a school in Venice, California where the classroom is set up outdoors. The caption writes, "The furnishings of a regular classroom have been installed on the warm sands, and the children follow the usual routine, except that at recess-time all the kiddies and the winsome teacher, Miss Lillian Bishop, take a dip in the surf." Also shown is Miss Katherine Lawler throwing her cat, Romeo, up into the air.
