The Home Front in Britain during World War I saw many changes -- changes in the role of women, the rationing of goods, food shortages, etc., but everyone "did their bit" to help the war effort. This fascinating collection of advertising from 1915-1918 gives us an historical snapshot of what life was like for the British people during the First World War.

Forestier, Amedee
Amedee Forestier (1854 Ð 1930) was an Anglo-French artist and illustrator who specialized in historical scenes and landscapes. He was born in Paris and illustrated for The Illustrated London News, the Windsor Magazine and for several novels. He was known for his attention to detail in archaeological representations of finds, such as of the prehistoric man. He also worked at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Museum of London.
