This is an original 1918 black and white halftone print of Pyotr Kakhovsky and Pavel Pestel, two of the Russian officers who led an uprising at Senate Square against the ascension of Nicholas I. They would be counted among the other Decemberists, so named after the month in which the revolt occurred.
