This is an original 1918 black and white halftone print of Vilyuysk prison in frozen Siberia. It was here that countless political prisoners were sent during the revolutionary era. Often wearing nothing more than the clothes they'd arrived in, some would be forced to work outdoors in temperatures as low as minus forty degrees Celcius/Farenheit.
