This is an original 1920 halftone print of the cave dwellers of France in the cities of Bourre and Chissay. The chimney of the homes protruded from the surface of the cliffs, and were sometimes three stories high. The homes provided excellent shelter from weather, and were known to be very clean, and furnished with antique and primitive items.
