This is an original 1920 World War I sepia rotogravure of a view of the Crown Prince's armored observatory in Montfaucon. The second image shows the advancing infantry of the 79th division as they pass Kaiser Wilhelm II's observatory after the town's capture. The final image shows American and French observers with field glasses and periscopes watching the Germans retreat from the area.
