This is an original 1920 World War I sepia rotogravure of Major General Joseph T. Dickman , commander of the 4th Corps (1st, 42nd and 8th Divisions) at the battle of St. Mihiel. The second image shows an aerial view of Essey and the Mort Mare Wood of the St. Mihiel salient, where the 89th Division attacked.
